Walk-Around Wednesday at Mandalay Bay

On June 6, my new podcast, Talking Vegas will debut right here at For those of you who know me from that other podcast, The Mouse Castle Lounge. you'll notice a lot of similarities between the two shows--aside from the fact one is about Disney and the other is about Las Vegas. The biggest similarity is both shows have amazing guests, smart, talented and entertaining people who know what they're talking about. That's the secret to being a good talk show host. Always have guests who are more interesting than you are.

I'll be sharing more about Talking Vegas in the coming weeks (you're going to love it, I promise), but for now, I'll try to whet your appetite for all things Las Vegas with the first installment of "Walk-Around Wednesday." That basically means on Wednesdays I'll walk around somewhere in Las Vegas, take pictures and post them here. Eventually, I may throw in some video too.

Anyway, my first stroll brought me to Mandalay Bay. Enjoy!

(Click the pics to get a bigger look).

Most people arrive at Mandalay Bay via the main entrance driveway or
the dingy parking garage. If you can walk in from the Strip pedestrian entrance,
do it. It's really beautiful.

Front door entrance.

Main lobby.

Mandalay Bay has the coolest looking House of Blues.

Mandalay Bay is home to Cirque du Soleil's Michael Jackson One.
It's a tribute show to the King of Pop.

On display in the showroom lobby is the actual beaded
military jacket Michael Jackson wore to the 1984
American Music Awards.

You won't find a vodka bar anywhere better than
Red Square. Just don't lose your head over it.

Inside Red Square.

Aureole is worth a visit if only for their massive wine tower.

See what I mean?

StripSteak, where you can get steaks...on the Strip.

It's always surf's up at Mandalay Bay Beach.

Do you have a favorite Las Vegas locale you'd like me to walk around and maybe post a picture or two? Please let me know in the comments below. Thanks!
